About the job

Job Description : About the role The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and managing our databases. You will ensure optimal database performance by analyzing database issues and monitoring database performance. What You will do Guide developers in choosing the right database, based on the application use-case Proficient with Object Relational Mapping technology Transform business and application requirements into scalable data models Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user’s specialized role RCA and resolve database related issues Capacity planning to support periodic or campaigns related scale Manage database changes and re-designs Analyze database issues and troubleshoot or configure the database accordingly Monitor database performance to ensure high levels of security and speed Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner Qualifications What you will need Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Technology, or a related field of study Proven knowledge of Postgresql/MySQL and MongoDB Servers Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Having over 3-5 years of DBA experience in the software industry with MongoDB/RDS/MySQL/ and NoSQL (Preferred) Having experience in database administration, design, development, maintenance and production support of relational databases, business applications strong in MongoDB and also in general system administration skills in Linux having exposure to performance tuning, query optimization, client/server connectivity, and database consistency checks using different utilities Additional Information About the team: You will work with slice's data team. We're currently a team of 10 and are looking to grow two-fold in the coming months. As a typical startup, we have classic 0-1 problems to solve. We have problems galore, and want folks who can roll up their sleeves and are up for a challenge. Some examples of the problem statements that might come to the team Data remains consistent across the database Data is clearly defined Users can access data concurrently, in a form that suits their needs. There is provision for data security and recovery control (ensuring all data is retrievable in an emergency).
