Job Description
With the support of the Group ESG Director and the Global Head of HSE, the Data Analyst will partner with the ESG network in Group and Divisional functions to understand ESG data capture requirements and then leverage the relevant data for the wider ESG agenda and reporting.
What youll do:
- Primary responsibility for all regular ESG and HSE data reporting and analytics, including creation of automated dashboards and standard reports, as well as evaluating trends and correlations to inform and assess impact of HSE and ESG Initiatives including key focus on SBT commitments and Scope 1-3 Net Zero commitments.
- Group-lead for coordination and aggregation of holistic ESG metrics, including connection to HR systems and others as needed. Single source of truth for all metrics included in Sustainability Report, including coordination with functional owners across multiple disciplines (does not ‘own’ these data or systems, but has responsibility to maintain current aggregation for ESG reporting purposes internal and external).
- Supports the Smiths Program Lead for HSE Data Management System (PRISM)
- Lead and coordinate Smiths efforts in all external reporting (MSCI, FTSE, ISS, etc)
- Work with data owners, and design teams in the Group and Divisions to assist with data-related reporting and technical issues
- Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
- Apply Data governance rules in collaborations with information owners
- Keep ESG data separated and secure in line with local regulatory requirements
What youll definitely need:
- University Degree
- Ability to research market data for the latest technology trends in ESG data management
- Analytical thinking and strong communication skills
- Ability to work with business owners to ensure analytics solutions meet business requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and high professional standards for service and work quality.
- Good knowledge of concepts and practices within the ESG function and compliance context
- Excellent problem-solving skills with high levels of verbal and numerical reasoning
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Required to comply with all applicable practices and documentation
- Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Mandatory Experience in Microsoft Suite
- Strong experience in ESG Data Analysis and reporting
- Good to have BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, QlickView etc.)
- Experience with ESG system related database.
- Good to have Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark)
- Broad knowledge of the design and implementation of applications build, release, deployment, and configuration activities
- English verbal and written communication skills
- Able to plan own work within agreed deadlines
