Job Description

We are looking for an experienced MySQL database administrator who will be responsible for
ensuring the performance, availability, and security of clusters of MySQL instances. You will
also be responsible for orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning of database
instances for a high demand fast growing environment with tens of Terabytes of data.

Responsibilities
=============
 Provision multimaster MySQL/galera clusters (Linux)
 Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases
 Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration.
 Manage database changes. ( alters & other ddls )
 Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary
 Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

Skills and Qualifications
===================
Strong proficiency in MySQL database management

         - worked with large farms of db clusters 50+
         - large size of databases  1TB+

 Min 6 Y experience with 4  recent years exclusively on DB administration. 
 Decent experience with recent versions of MySQL
 Experience in Linux
 Understanding of MySQL’s underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB
 Experience with replication configuration in MySQL
 Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL
 Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
 Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications
 Ability to effectively manage / augment capacity.
 Familiarity with other SQL/NoSQL databases
 Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular
    relational databases
 Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
 Ability to manage a team of DBA.
