Job Description Summary:
Sr Data Engineer will be part of Finance data team and support the development and execution of strategic transformation programs & initiatives, strategic engineering architecture design, resource allocation, and platform performance monitoring. Ideal candidate is a technologist who believes that use of technology is in its infancy and the best is yet to come. The nature of role is strategic, analytical and highly collaborative, working with team members across World and also as a liaison for Global projects.

Job Description:
Responsibilities:

• Must have worked in Cloud environments and are familiar with object stores, and other common cloud-native data storage and processing frameworks
• Must have demonstrated ability to design, implement, refactor, and highly extend performant, scalable, resilient, reliable, and understandable data pipelines
• Must have deep expertise in modern data engineering approaches, stay on top of developments, and are aware of what leading players are doing
• Experience in building high-performance data pipelines at scale
• Work with data team to efficiently use Google Cloud platform to analyze data, build data models, and generate reports/visualizations
• Work with implementation teams from concept to operations, providing deep technical subject matter expertise for successfully deploying large scale data solutions in the enterprise, using modern data/analytics technologies on cloud
• Coding in Python, shell, R, Java, and other relevant languages
• Must have demonstrably strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), to include speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
  
  

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent from a leading university and preferably with a master’s or MBA (good to have)
• 4+ years of post-college working experience as a developer and architect in Engineering (must)
• 2+ years of Linux/Unix/Python coding experience (including scripting) is required (must)
• 2+ years of experience working on Cloud services and Cloud deployments (must)
• Cloud certifications (good to have)
• Strong conceptual and creative problem-solving skills; ability to work with considerable ambiguity; ability to learn new and complex concepts quickly. Relentlessly resourceful and scrappy
• A great communicator, strong project management skills, and superb attention to details (must)
• Experience leading teams in a global complex matrix organization involving multiple reporting lines
  
  

Position Specific Skills

• 4+ years of experience working on Hadoop Technologies (Hive, Spark, Scala) (must)
• 2+ years of experience working on GCP (must)
