Job Spec for Database Administrator:

Kaseya is seeking a self-driven and motivated Database Administrator to join our Cloud and Database Operations team that is passionate about managing, implementing, and evolving production network infrastructure, tooling, service monitoring, documentation, and incident management.

Essential Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

• Configuring and maintaining production & development database infrastructure
• Maintains database performance, stability, and reliability by identifying and resolving production and application development problems.
• Making requested changes, updates, and modifications to database structure and data
• Ensuring database integrity, stability, and system availability
• Maintaining database backup and recovery infrastructure
• Debugging production and development database issues
• Defining and implementing standards and best practices related to system architecture, deployments, metrics, and operational tasks
• Developing and enhancing service documentation
• Maintaining 24/7 uptime in business-critical environments

Position Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience with installing, configuring, and tuning Microsoft SQL Server
• 2-4 years of experience with installing, configuring, and tuning MySQL and PostgreSQL
• Expert knowledge optimizing database performance, implementing best database system and security practices, and troubleshooting problems
• Strong experience with database administrator tools to manage and monitor the database environment
• Strong experience with database scripting and queries for process automation and administration
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation, evening, and weekend maintenance tasks
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a distributed team environment and across multiple time zones.
• Flexible approach to work with the ability to proactively take the initiative and work independently with little supervision and also to be part of a collaborative team where ideas & skills are shared
• Understand enterprise application and infrastructure requirements

Education And Experience

• BS in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience
• Microsoft SQL Server Certifications preferred but not essential
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and willingness to act as a team player; sharing information willingly and accurately.
• Ability to learn and implement new technologies quickly
• Able to hit the ground running and a self-starter
• Pro-active planning and a 'can-do' attitude
