Preferred qualifications:
· Masters degree in Human Computer
Interface/Computer Science, Anthropology, Human Factors, Psychology, or related
field.
· Experience conducting semi-structured interviews,
contextual field visits, usability studies either live or remote.
· Experience conducting quantitative or mixed-methods
research, A/B testing, design of experiments, statistical analyses, etc.
· Comfort and familiarity conducting research at
varying levels.
· Ability to stay adaptive and flexible in response
to changing prioritization.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

As a User Experience Researcher (UXR), you’ll help your team of UXers, product
managers, and engineers understand user needs. You’ll play a critical role in
creating useful, usable, and delightful products. Working with stakeholders
across functions and levels, youll have impact at all stages of product development.
You’ll explore user behaviors and motivations by conducting primary research
such as field studies, interviews, diary studies, participatory workshops,
ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and logs analysis.
The UXR community at Google is unique and will help you do your best work.
You’ll have the opportunity to work with and learn from UXRs across Google
through regular meetups, mentor programs, and access to internal research
tools.
Responsibilities
· Define UX research that supports Unified
Fulfillment Optimization (UFO) product teams, researching behaviors, and needs
to identify critical goals and journeys for our customers.
· Collaborate closely with stakeholders, product
managers, engineers, and designers to gather insights, build consensus around
customer needs and deliver solutions. Identify and define new opportunities
based on insights gathered.
· Navigate both physical and digital environments and
provide insights about customer needs. Inform product delivery by testing
solutions iteratively to make them more valuable to our customers.
· Engage and educate internal and external audiences
who may be learning about research methods for the first time.
· Manage complex, multi-phase projects
simultaneously. Understand and incorporate complex technical and business
requirements into research.
